Find your Toshiba Supplies driver and software support information
Just like your computer, phone and other devices, your printers etc. also need to be updated regularly. Like most users, you probably use Windows applications and let them download and install updates automatically. However there are exceptions, sometimes it is wise to update drivers and/or software manually.
What does "updating" actually mean?
Updated software released by the manufacturer keeps your system, including your printer, up to date. This does not only apply to the operating system of your computer and the software you are using on your computer but also to the connected hardware such as your (Toshiba) printers. Simply put, you can assume that any device that is (indirectly) connected to the Internet should be updated regularly.
There are different types of updates
We can divide the software updates into two types. There are functional updates, which ensure that the software is more stable, faster and works better. These updates are generally not very urgent.
However, there are other updates that usually are urgent, the security updates. These updates improve the security of the device and/or the software fpr example by fixing vulnerabilities. Security updates are best performed immediately. If you have a Windows system this usually happens automatically. When you install the updates advised by your system (provider) immediately you are working with the newest and safest version of the software. With this you may prevent several problems.
Nowadays printer driver updates will often be installed automatically with the regular system updates. In some cases it can be useful to update these drivers manually.
